Twitter Widget for your Dreamweaver Website - Tutorial

Discover how to easily install a twitter widget into your website design with this easy to follow Dreamweaver video tutorial.

A Twitter Widget for your Website

This is a great tutorial which will show you how to add a twitter widget to your website. The free twitter widget is available at twitter.com/widgets. At twitter’s widget section you can design for yourself a custom twitter widget incorporating all of the color schemes and styles of your website.

To design your custom twitter widget, there are many options to choose from. In the preferences section you can choose whether to include a scrollbar, a poll for new results, and the number of tweets to display on your twitter widget and at what interval they revolve through your widget.

In the appearance section, use the color picker and to choose the right colors and layouts to fit in with your website design. The twitter widgets are fully customizable and you can choose the colors of the shell background, tweet background, tweet text, shell text and link text and it will generate the necessary twitter widget css and twitter widget code.

In the dimensions section, you can specify the height and width and twitter will generate the necessary twitter html widget size you require. Remember, the widget selector at twitter.com generates html and css code which links back to the twitter API. This means that we can adjust all of the widget features in Dreamweaver or other web design software without needing to go back to the twitter widget generator. In other words, it’s all CSS and html.

So once you’re happy with your widget, click on the finish and grab code button and copy and paste the code into your html document.

Now once in your website, it’s not hard to work out how to change the settings of the free twitter widget. The colors are all hexadecimal so you only need to look for hash tag ‘#’ to change those. The height and width dimension for the twitter website widget are easy to adjust too.
